Payment Terms & Collection Arrangements

Successful bidders will receive a pro-forma invoice by email within 12 hours of the sale and PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED WITHIN 5 DAYS OF THE SALE ENDING. You may arrange collection and enquire about our packing & shipping service ONLY after the items have been paid for. Failure to pay on time can result in you being unable to bid in future online auctions.

Proforma invoices should be settled by same-day bank transfer (details on invoice). For payments from overseas currencies we recommend using Transferwise  for fast & easy money transfers for the best exchange rate. Bank transfers from overseas will not be received by the deadline UNLESS fast payment is requested . Alternatively, debit card payments can be made by ringing Techbid on +44 207 436 6899, quoting your 5-digit bidder number, which must also be the reference for bank transfers.. We regret that neither credit cards nor cheques can be accepted.

The quickest & simplest method of payment is by bank transfer & our bank details are clearly shown on the proforma invoice. Overseas buyers who choose not to use SWIFT must be aware that payments may take several days to reach our account which will delay the collection of purchased lots and may breach the deadline. All bank fees must be paid by the buyer and further delays may be incurred until the full amount payable has been received. If you use this method, be sure to state 'Techbid+Your Bidder Number' as the reference.

A Buyers Premium/online commission is charged on the hammer price at the rate of 28% on the first £250, 18% on any remainder.  Overseas buyers will be charged VAT but this can be refunded when acceptable proof of export has been provided. Note that VAT is payable on buyers premium even when goods are exported but may be refunded for overseas corporate customers only when status is verfied. All queries regarding payment should be directed to our auction sales accounts team at: accounts@techbid.co.uk

All lots must be removed from the site within 10 working days after the auction closes, except where Techbid has received an additional payment by this deadline to ship the lots, or when lots are not yet available for collection. Overseas buyers ONLY will be allowed an extra 5 days. After this period, a £60+VAT storage fee will be charged per item per week (max £300/week) and after 4 weeks all lots that have not been collected will be treated as abandoned and disposed of without notice. However, note that the storage charge to that date is still payable.

Collection is STRICTLY BY APPOINTMENT from Techbid at The Television Set Village, 10-11 Percy Street, London W1T 1DN, UK from 10am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Buyers should email support@techbid.co.uk to arrange this. Any uncollected items may be disposed of after 20 working days from the end of sale and no refunds will be given if storage has not been requested & the appropriate storage fees paid. In the event of any lots not being paid for or not being removed within this period, any deposit paid will be forfeited and Techbid shall immediately thereafter be at liberty to rescind the contract and without notice to the purchaser to dispose of the goods.

The risk in each lot shall pass to the purchaser following notification of the successful bid and the purchaser is strongly advised to effect insurance at once, irrespective of the fact that ownership of each lot remains vested in the vendor and the purchaser shall not be entitled to remove any lot until payment in full has been made for each and every lot purchased by him at the sale.

Purchasers are advised to bring some form of identification when collecting won lots and should ensure that their contractors hold sufficient public liability insurance, copies of which should be made available to Techbid if demanded. Techbid will only permit removal of lots by the successful purchaser or their duly appointed agent.

Techbid does not automatically undertake packaging, postage, delivery or shipment of goods and the bidder must make his own arrangements to comply with the clearance terms.

Techbid OPTIONAL Packing/Shipping Service

Upon request, a chargeable secure packaging service is generally available for most lots, depending on size & fragility, and at the buyer's own risk. Note however that Techbid CAN NOT supply packing or shipping estimates until payment for the goods has been received IN FULL (including any storage charges applicable). Note that UK government VAT is currently levied at 20%.

Unless exceptionally fragile, packing prices per package are as follows.

Weight of package: 2kg to 5kg: £25+VAT; 6kg-10kg: £35+VAT, 11kg-14kg: £50+VAT, 15kg-20kg: £75+VAT, 21kg-25kg: £90+VAT, 26kg-30kg: £100+VAT. Above 30kg and below 2kg by special arrangement.

These optional secure packing prices include normal packing materials but exclude any special cases or crates that may be recommended & these will be charged separately. For UK Next working day consignments, packaging and shipment charges must be paid before 12:30pm. Otherwise it will be the following working day.

In addition to the optional packing service and depending on the actual lot(s) purchased, a shipping quotation may also be offered and will be charged by Techbid at cost plus 25% handling fee plus VAT (minimum handling per consignment: £15+VAT).

NB: All packages for export require customs documentation for which Techbid will charge an administration fee of £15+VAT. This applies in all cases, no matter who is responsible for shipping the consignment. Buyers are responsible for all taxes, fees & import duties imposed by customs authorities in their own country.

If you wish to request a packing and/or shipping quote when the goods have been paid for, please email: support@techbid.co.uk

Please note that all items are currently unpackaged.

Remember that, following notification of a successful bid, the purchaser becomes responsible for the Lot(s) and you are therefore strongly advised to effect insurance immediately, whether or not the goods are being collected personally or sent using the Techbid shipping serice. No liability can be accepted by Techbid for any loss or damage occurred post-auction FOR WHATEVER REASON, including in transit.
